What is healing?

What is healing?

Is it suppressing your feelings and pretending you are alright?

Is it “fake it till you make it?”

Or is it taking a step forward and digging deeper into the roots to look for causes?

Is it observing the signs and patterns that bring back the pain?

Or acknowledging the pain and accepting it helps?

Does talking about it help or restraining to talk about it?

Because when we talk about it, sometimes we feel heavier in contrast with the lightness. And when we restrain, loads of emotions are left unspoken, and they don’t leave our heads.

Should we prefer avoiding feeling those emotions or encouraging ourselves to feel them?

Aren’t we advised to feel our emotions and not bury them?

So, is it helpful when we don’t avoid such patterns, and they lead to feeling the pain like we did the very first time of our incidents?

Does feeling those emotions again and again help reduce the pain we feel every time?

Do those emotions hurt less after years and years, or it remains the same?

Does anything or anyone seem to help when we are going through such times?

  • In my experiences, talking about your pain to someone else can be really beneficial to the healing process. But also journaling has helped to express those emotions.
